abundant July showers bring…

(inedible) mushrooms to the backyard 🙂

since my P&S camera doesn’t do macro, this is the best I could accomplish with these tiny ‘shrooms…the largest was apx. 1/4 inch across

I think these look like Hobbit Houses

water for the fairies

to me, this looks like a sesame seed bun…not!

thankfully, so far, Baron the Dachshund has never been the least bit interested in our backyard fungi…I sincerely hope this remains true

the backyard is like a huge compost, there is some grass but I never rake the leaves from the huge oak tree so the mushrooms flourish in the decay.  what fascinates me is how many different types there are

happy Thursday 🙂

    • That’s good to hear about dogs and mushrooms…I’d read a piece somewhere that seemed to indicate that dogs would eat them, of course I also read that about Aloe Vera plants, I have some in the backyard and Baron has never shown any inclination to try to eat them either 🙂

  1. Thank you for the review!!! 🙂 I just now read it. I hate the fact that he turned your studio into a “man cave.” That makes me so mad. And I’m glad you quit the medicine cold turkey. That stuff is bad — well, maybe it’s good for some people, but I’ve heard lots of bad stories about it. No, I haven’t moved yet, but I’m planning to soon, I hope.

    • Happy you liked the review 🙂 I’ve been divorced from the “man cave” guy for over 30 years and Don and I were together for almost 28 of those years and Don was the BEST!!! Chemicals that alter that alter the body or mind are to be used carefully and with discretion…they can be really scary! When you move, I’m looking forward to hearing how it works out for you. I’ve never regretted leaving my own personal “Town of the Spider.” It’s sad too because as individuals some of the nicest people I’ve ever know came from there…but their collective belief system just didn’t mesh with mine. Mines wishy washy but it’s mine 🙂 Happy Saturday!
