the back 🙂

I first doodled this a couple of years ago…as an exercise to see if I could draw the arm and hand correctly behind the back.  I never used the original doodle so I recently redrew it and threw in someone else’s Zentangles in the background.  I’m already tiring of having to explain the Zentangles so will stop using them and create something of my own to use.

(I do however have several more doodles/drawings where I think I used them…so bear with me 🙂

have a peaceful Sunday

~ I’ve read about Zentangles online and downloaded Kindle books on the subject…however, it is not clear to me about the copyrights issues.

~ I have absolutely no idea to whom the individual Zentangles, I used in my creation, belong.

~ I take no credit for creating the Zentangles…I do take credit for creating this piece of work.

~ The vagueness about copyrights is the reason I’ve not used Zentangles very often in the past.

Happy Birthday…

“The desire to fly is an idea handed down to us by our ancestors who…looked enviously on the birds soaring freely through space…on the infinite highway of the air.”  Wilbur Wright.

“All art is exorcism.  I paint dreams and visions too; the dreams and visions of my time.  Painting is the effort to produce order; order in yourself.  There is much chaos in me, much chaos in our time.”  Otto Dix

As I was swirling the fingerpaints around on the paper, I was reminded of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story “A Descent into the Maelstrom,” the story of a man who survived a shipwreck and a powerful whirlpool.

And since butterflies are considered symbols of life and the soul, I felt they’d make a nice counterbalance to the chaos.

I’m enjoying the very tactile nature of fingerpaints…actually feeling the paint as it goes on the paper…moving it around to create an emotion, very enjoyable!!!

foray #2188…

into the backyard for Baron’s bathroom/exercise break and a photo shoot 🙂

we had a delicious rain last night (after several days of high temps and high humidity) with enough wind and water volume to cause the lights to go out for an hour or two and “prune” the dead wood from the mighty oak 🙂  I fear this may be a prelude to our hurricane season which begins in June and lasts until November.

have an enjoyable weekend
