celebrating Valentine’s Day…at school 🙂
When I was in elementary school, a week or so before Valentine’s Day, the class would decorate a box (with crepe paper, construction paper and lacey paper doilies) to put their Valentines in. A slot would be left in the middle of the top and day by day we’d stuff in our Valentines. Everyone wanted to receive the most cards, not necessarily because it would mean we were the most loved but because it would mean that one of us was the MOST POPULAR. Every now and then someone would actually slip in a card declaring their love for the recipient. Woe to those who were found out…their lives became a misery of merciless, unending teasing.
Tom loves Mary, Tom loves Mary, Tom loves Mary

Interpretation for those who haven’t a clue :): “(North America, idiomatic, colloquial, childish, pejorative, taunt, often humorous) [c. mid 20th century?] A taunt or putdown, typically used to indicate that the speaker believes he or she has beaten the listener in a competition or is better in some other way or in a general sense; or an expression of satisfaction that the listener has received some supposedly deserved minor punishment or misfortune (a schadenfreude).” Wikipedia
