washerwoman

The reason I love Van Gogh’s paintings so much is because he packed so much emotion into every painting…using subject matter and color.  It took me several starts but eventually I achieved a “washerwoman” who said to me, “I’m tired from the bone out, sweat is dripping off my hair but at home I’ve got an out-of-work husband and 3 small children…so I wash these clothes whether I want to or not.”

I feel her tiredness, her despair, her giving in to what has to be done!

Life in the RAW, visceral, primal, basic!

Intense!
